Equiliber means “balance” in Rhaeto-Romanic. Balance is important on many levels. Equiliber not only stands for the balance of knit and purl stitches. It also stands for tension and ease in life.

The seamless construction and the pattern consisting only of knit and purl stitches make Equiliber a simple but exciting sweater to knit.

Equiliber is knit from the top down with a circular yoke. The sweater is textured throughout, knitted in rounds. It has a straight body and balloon sleeves.

To best display the textured pattern, I recommend using a not-too-stretchy yarn such as a silk blend, in a solid or semi-solid colour.

PATTERN NOTES

I used the chained cast-on technique. This cast-on is often used as a provisional cast-on. In my tutorial, I work this cast-on with scrap yarn. For this sweater, I used the same yarn as I work with.
