Exploration Station – Stephen West’s Mystery KAL 2014

Accompany me to the trip to Exploration Station! Today Stephen West releases the first clue for his mystery knit along of 2014. Let’s explore new fields and enjoy the fun.

When I attended last year my very first mystery knitalong, I was hooked. The surprise of a MKAL is what you get by the end of the project. You don’t know in the beginning how the piece will look like. The only thing you might know if it’s a shawl, socks mittens etc. Every week a new clue will be released. Usually, there are four clues.

Last year I did the Color craving MKAL 2013. This was so much fun. Though I didn’t like it in the beginning, I love to wear this shawl. I like the pop of the colour combo. And I get a lot of compliments for it :-)

This years “Exploration Station” MKAL (pattern on Ravelry) – as the name already says so – it will be full of adventures. Stephen West surprises everytime with new crazy ideas. I’m looking forward to exploring new things…

exploration station - colour choice

For the shawl, you need four different colours in fingering weight. I chose violet, turquoise, magenta and orange as I had already this set from Zauberwiese. But I’m not sure which should be the main/ border colour: orange or violet? What would you choose?

And what’s even more fun, when you’re with. So, who’s gonna join me?
