The Langebaan shawl is a beginner-compatible lace project with a lace pattern that works without complicated knitting charts.
Why this name? In Langebaan I made my first experiences with kite surfing. I just went back and forth. And so shall this pattern you open up the world of lace knitting. Simply back and forth.

The slightly asymmetrically shaped triangular shawl is knitted sideways. Because the knitting starts at one end, you can stop anytime and bind off. A perfect project to relax in between more complicated ones, but also very suitable for beginners and new knitters.

I chose a single ply silk yarn, which shows perfectly the open lace stitch.

MATERIAL

YARN

Anna & Juan Tussah wild Silk, 100 % silk (400 m per 100 g)

• 1 skein in „Färbermaulbeer“
100 g / 400 m / 437 yards used for the sample

When substituting the yarn, I recommend using a sport-weight yarn. Though the original yardage is like fingering-weight, it behaves like a sport-weight yarn.
