It’s again Finished Object friday. In today’s episode I show you my first project with my handspun yarn.
In spring time (yes, some months ago) there was a knitalong/ spinalong in the Zauberwiese group on Ravelry.
This colorful fiber caught my eyes. It’s called Party and contains 70% wool and 30% nylon. Perfect for socks. It’s a 3-ply, navajo-plied in fingering weight.
Within one week I spun the yarn. Colours keep me motivated and it’s always a pleasure to see how it turns out.
Pattern: Hedera by Cookie A. (free pattern)
Needle size: 2.5 mm
Yarn: handspun yarn, fingering weight, colour “Party”, 3-ply
Yardage: 78 g/ 293 m
To knit the socks took me a bit longer. I started on the train towards Backnang. Unfortunately shortly afterwards I had an injury. But slowly I started to knit again and finish them.
The socks are knitted cuff down with a slip stitch heel.
The lace pattern is very easy to memorize. Only four rows to remind. Thanks to the mixture of knit and purl stitches it produces a stretchy sock.
For a handspun yarn it looks very even. And it makes me really proud. It will be definitely not my last project with handspun yarn.
